How to Make Smarter Decisions About Your Website  (and anything you publish online) with Google Analytics is an in-depth, 3-part hands-on workshop offered in downtown Toronto.

This is a hands-on course for non-technical people, focused on giving you actionable insight into how your online work is helping you achieve your goals.  By the end of the three sessions you will have solid insights into how people interact with your website/social media/email updates, what attracts them to your content and what keeps them coming back. You will identify and keep track of those high value visitors who contribute the most to your online goals – sales, donations, event registrations, downloads. You will learn how to begin to make online decisions based on your site visitors needs and wants, not your own guesswork.

In three morning sessions we will :

  • configure a Google Analytics account with goals, dashboards and custom reports
  • define key performance indicators: the data that leads to the most valuable insight
  • examine the behaviour of your high value visitors, and what brings them to your site
  • measure the impact of social media, email and mobile visitors

This course is intended for anyone who needs to make decisions about how and what to publish online.  While you will need to have Google Analytics installed on your website by the first session of the course, there will be clear instructions for you (or your web admin) to accomplish this – the workshop does not require deep technical knowledge.

In addition to the morning sessions and simple homework exercises to reinforce classroom learnings, each participant can schedule a one hour coaching session to dig deeper into their specific challenges.

The aim of this workshop is to begin to transform the way you (and your organization) make decisions about using scarce online resources – removing guesswork wherever possible and replacing it with measurable data.
