I have often felt there are so many great online campaigning jobs in the United States and the UK, but not so many opportunities to do online work for progressive organizations here in Canada.
That was last week.
Three recent job openings I have heard of had restored my faith in the health of online organizing in Canada.Make Poverty History Online Campaign Coordinator – Ottawa
A great opportunity for someone who understands technology (esp. Drupal), email lists and who can communicate well online. See the job description here, but HURRY – the job closes Tuesday, September 8th. If this job title sounds familiar, it is the one I have filled for the past year and a half. I have recently begun more consulting work, and as the campaign ramps up I cannot give them the support they need to make a big spalsh at the G8 next summer. I will be working on projects for Make Poverty History for the foreseeable future, but I can’t lead the charge online.
WWF Social Media Specialist
This is an interesting opportunity for a social media-savvy environmentalist in Toronto. Great organization, and Lisa, who runs the department, would be great to work with. Application available here.
Drupal website production
Finally, a very interesting global campaign is looking for support on a contract basis, uploading content to their Drupal site. The ideal candidate could start almost immediately and has experience uploading content to Drupal 6, as well as some basic Drupal configuration skills. The site has launched but there’s A LOT of content to go up in a very short time. If you are interested, let me know a bit about your experience with Drupal content creation at eric@ this domain and I will pass your name on.
